I Am There
The white swan rides the lapis waves,
The seagull’s wings caress the air,
The monarch zigzags through the sky,
With the sunrise,
I am there.
The chipmunk chitters in the grass,
Geese squadrons touch the clouds;
The squirrel stirs within his lair,
With the sunrise,
I am there.
The cardinal sings what’s in his heart,
As jewels of dew grace the trees,
And the bee seeks the blossoms fair,
With the sunrise,
I am there.
The sacred stillness of the night
Surrenders to the break of day,
While subtle hues adorn the sky,
And God upon his canvas plays.
Gazing at the golden light,
Casual miracle in my sight,
Welcoming the day’s return;
A deeper peace for which we yearn,
Melts my sorrows and despair.
With the sunrise,
I am there.
